Coach Grant is no stranger to the climb. After rebuilding his own life through movement, time in the mountains, and a mindset forged on long roads, cold plunges, and steep trails, he found his purpose: helping others reclaim their strength through challenge. As a performance coach, endurance athlete, and guide, Grant blends physical training with mental resilience, meeting people exactly where they are and moving them forward with intention. His background in leadership and recovery work shapes a coaching style centered on growth, accountability, and compassion. Grant believes adversity can become altitude. His training approach turns struggle into momentum—one step, one breath, one climb at a time.
As a coach he has helped clients find new potential and deeper purpose in training for and completing 29029, R2R2R, ÖTILLÖ Swimruns, and Hyrox.

"I had the good fortune of meeting Coach Grant about half way through my training for my first 29029. I had been following the established plan that 29029 provides, but it was getting slightly tricky as I was training for the Grand Canyon Rim2Rim as part of my 29029 training. Coach Grant tweaked my plan based on my goals, progress level, geolocation, and events I was preparing for. Grant, having done both the events before, was also able to provide pivotal insights on both nutrition and mindset. Can't thank him enough!!"

"When I began running as an adult, Grant was instrumental in my training for my first road races. I absolutely would not have been able to achieve what I have in swimrun events without his detailed guidance and expertise as I learned how to swim and trail run for these races. His gentle but supportive position as an accountability checkpoint was helpful and so encouraging through the training ups and downs."

At 29029, we call it 'experience' coaching because it’s about more than just training—it’s about embracing a journey. We believe in big adventures, the kind that challenge limits and inspire growth. Every athlete’s path is unique, and we celebrate that journey as much as the finish line. Our coaching reflects an aspirational lifestyle, where the pursuit of experiences becomes part of who you are, not just what you do. We’re all explorers—seeking new heights, new challenges, and new versions of ourselves. Experience coaching means guiding athletes to live boldly, embrace adventure, and discover what they’re truly capable of.
Why should I hire a coach?
In the world of endurance adventures, the options are endless, but hard to navigate. Most of us need help. A plan. A support system and community. And most importantly a coach to guide us, hold us accountable, and keep us focused.
How does online coaching work?
Working with a dedicated 1-1 coach online via video, text, and email can be a far more efficient way to achieve the results you're looking for. You spend less time and money coordinating schedules with your trainer, and more time focusing on your daily workout/nutrition plan, and overcoming any hurdles you face.
How is an online coach different from a traditional coach?
Unlike conventional trainers that charge per session, 29029 coaches provide unlimited workouts, Q+A, and accountability whenever you need it for a flat monthly membership fee.
What if my coach isn’t a good fit for me? Can I change?
Absolutely. We know how important it is to click with your coach. Before you begin, you'll share a lot about your preferences, goals, and limitations so our team can match you with the coach we think is best for you. If you ever want to try someone else, just let us know and we'll work with you to find the perfect fit.
How will my coach help me with nutrition?
Many of our coaches have advanced nutrition credentials. Your coach can provide feedback on what you're doing well and where there is room for improvement. We also host regular community-wide expert calls with nutrition coaches that include Q+A to help you get the guidance you need.
What kinds of workouts will I do?
Any kinds of workouts you'd like! Let your coach know what your favorite types of exercise are and they'll build those into your personalized plans.
Can’t I get the same results on my own?
In our experience, nothing replaces the effectiveness of a real, human coach to guide you, motivate you, and keep you on track. The modern world provides too many distractions to lose focus if you don't have that accountability partner with you at all times to maintain consistency. Working with a coach ensures that the work you put in is actually leading to the outcomes you desire.
Why is there a membership fee?
29029 Experience Coaching is for individuals ready to invest in a complete wellness support network, including a dedicated coach, community, and access to experts. We invest heavily in the onboarding experience for new members to make sure you are matched with the best possible coach for your preferences, goals, and limitations, who then works closely with you in your first month to begin to design the optimal program for you.
Do I need to have a gym membership?
No. Your coach will design a custom plan to suit your situation. Your personalized workouts will incorporate whatever equipment, space, and time is available to you. The goal is to create a convenient and realistic workout plan that you can stick with.
Is there a minimum commitment?
To ensure meaningful results, we ask new athletes to begin with a six-month commitment. Your coaching experience should always feel aligned and supported — if at any time it doesn’t, reach out and we’ll personally help you transition to a coach who’s a better fit for your goals.
